SEMPURION Launches Carbon-Ceramic Hot-Bend Mold for 750°C+ Microcrystalline Glass Forming

SEMPURION has launched its CC-3D carbon-ceramic composite mold for 3D glass hot forming, targeting microcrystalline glass processing above 750°C. At such temperatures conventional graphite molds oxidize and carbonize rapidly, sharply shortening service life — a long-standing pain point on production lines.
The carbon-fiber-reinforced ceramic matrix does not oxidize at high temperature and exhibits minimal thermal deformation, delivering up to 50x the service life of graphite. Combined with a smooth, anti-sticking surface, it enables clean demolding with fewer scratches for higher yield.
