Display Rework De-gumming: Cold-soak Essentials
ACF/OCA/lamination rework favors swelling-peel; temperature and soak time determine substrate safety.
1Cold-soak basics
Soak at room temperature: thin adhesive 5-15 min, thick 20-30 min, halved with ultrasonics (HKC-ACF-N). OCA removal 5-15 min at 40°C; polarizer soak beyond 30 min risks TAC damage.
2Protect AF coating
Screen lamination strippers (L556/L715/L716/BLG-1700) are AF-safe by design; wipe pads with alcohol after rework and check for discoloration.
